Avarie We Love You!

This past week has been a very difficult in my family. My 4 year old neice, Avarie was diagnosed with Leukemia on Tuesday. Avarie was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis a few months ago, but last Friday she was very sick and was in a lot of pain. My sister, Jenell felt that she needed to take her to the hospital. After further testing we heard that she does not have arthritis, but that it's cancer. Avarie has been such a brave and strong little girl. She has received Chemo already in the hospital and is doing very well. The next round of chemo will cause her hair to start falling out, which will make this more real. She is going to be very stylish though because she is going to be getting the cutest hats from all of those who love her. Our family has really pulled together. We are truly blessed to have such a big family to help Jenell and her family. They have 3 other children they are trying to take care of as well. Its going to be a long road but if you know Avarie she is a fighter and truly a special spirit. Avarie we love you and can't wait to have you back home.

I am sorry to hear that Michelle. When i was in kindergarten my best friend had Leukemia, she was 5. She was the only one in the school that was allowed to wear a hat. I am so happy to say that she has been in remission ever since then too and has an adorable little girl! Its going to be a tough road, but kids are good fighters. Your family will be in my prayers.

Is that Craig's daughter? I used to know him a long time ago from young adults...how sad for them...let them know I will keep little Avarie in my prayers! Can she get a locks of love grant for a little wig? My daughter and I always donate our hair because it grows so fast but I have never heard how to get one?

Colton's cousin Jake was diagnosed with testicular cancer when he was 1. He fought for a year with chemo and treatment and lost his hair as well; it was so difficult for the family but he is a little fighter, like Avarie, and he is now 3 and in remission! Our prayers are with your family in this difficult time.

Michelle I'm so sorry to hear about your family, it must be hard. My mom's sister past on when she was 5 from lukemia. They told my grandparents that she probably would have been fine if they knew more about the disease that was taking her life, but back then they really knew nothing about it. We are so lucky to live in a time with so many medical advances. I know in my heart that heavenly Father is with Avarie and your family, and that she is going so strong, and come out ok. Heavenly Father doesn't give us trials we can't handle. I will keep her in my prayers.
